Each year our residents, their families, community members, and local businesses help fund important programs that enhance the Horizon House community by participating in our annual Partners in Caring fundraising program.
One important aspect of our charitable mission is Residents Assistance. For more than thirty years, Residents Assistance has been providing confidential financial aid to residents in need. Thanks to this fund, no resident of Horizon House has ever had to leave due to a lack of financial resources.
Charitable gifts also go to help support beneficial programs including professional development of our employees, enabling access to continuing education, and by providing seminars and workshops to our residents.
There are also projects that simply cannot be funded by our regular operating budget – all of which positively affect the quality of life for our residents. Past examples include the addition of a row machine in our Wellness Center and original art work in common areas.
We are grateful for the ongoing support shown by our residents and community at large, but the need continues to grow. We ask that you please consider making a tax-deductible gift to Horizon House to ensure we can continue to enhance the lives of every resident.
Quality of Resident Life is an undesignated fund for the area of greatest need.
Residents Assistance is for those who have exhausted their financial resources.
Statement from a resident: “I never dreamed that my husband and I would need financial support. We saved assiduously for retirement and could not possibly have anticipated the cost of health care back in the 1980s, when we thought about retirement. If it weren’t for Residents Assistance we would have had to leave Horizon House. That would have been devastating.”
Employee Education provides professional training for our staff.
Statement from an employee: “I want to become a nurse someday. Because of this program I was able to take an NAC class. Now I'm a Certified Nurse Assistant, which is a requirement to enter a Nursing Program.”
Gifts can be made now, during your lifetime, or through your estate.
