A special welcome from Chief Executive Officer Bob Anderson.

Welcome to Horizon House, a gracious place for active living, life-long learning, and creative aging. When people ask me to describe Horizon House in a few words, I always start with the word “community.” This dynamic, urban retirement village is home to more than 500 older adults who have come together to share their interesting lives.

This sense of community is apparent through the plethora of resident-directed activities that engage body, mind, and spirit. From our state-of-the-art wellness services to a vast array of educational, social, and cultural programs to comprehensive healthcare to simple, kind acts of friendship – these are at the heart of our community.

Anchored by a tradition of care, commitment, and support that started more than 50 years ago, Horizon House provides each resident with a secure quality of life. A key example of this caring tradition is based upon our founding principle – which stated that no one should ever have to leave Horizon House because they have exhausted their financial resources. A multi-million dollar endowment fund for Residents Assistance, built over decades, continues to make that commitment a reality today. What a statement in these challenging times!

In addition to our reputation of being a vital, secure community, people choose to live at Horizon House because it offers choice (a flexible dining credit rather than required meals, optional housekeeping services, and a wide range of entrance fees), a great location (only a short walk through Freeway Park to downtown), and, most of all, because of the interesting and involved people who live here.

I invite you to discover more about Horizon House through the many dimensions of our website, and by contacting us to learn more about our vibrant retirement living. Maybe I’ll even see you on a tour sometime soon. Most of all, I invite you to find out why so many older adults are making Horizon House the place to “Live Creatively.”

Take a tour.
