Residents in need of additional support often call upon the help of family members or private caregivers. Horizon House offers Adult Day Services in partnership with Elderwise, as another option for needed support. Adult Day Services also provide respite for caregivers – especially spouses – to attend to other aspects of life while providing peace of mind that loved ones are receiving excellent care.
Elderwise, a non-profit organization founded in 1997, is a cultural and artistic enrichment program whose mission is to improve the quality of life of seniors, and to promote healthy aging and respect for the wisdom of elders.
Our Elderwise Adult Day Service program aims to design a creative environment that provides nourishment for the mind, body, and soul. This is achieved through encouraging meaningful conversation and lasting relationships.
Our day program is not a clinic or a treatment center. It’s a place where people come to share experiences, and learn from others. We are a place where people experiencing changes or loss can come to feel like themselves again and experience growth.
